RESIDENTS will receive a free pass to a town’s top tourist attractions in a bid to remember their heritage.
People in and around Richmond will gain free access to The Green Howards Museum, Richmond Castle, The Georgian Theatre Royal and Richmondshire Museum as part of the Love Being Local Day initiative on Saturday, March 17.
The Station, which doesn’t charge for admission, is also offering free family activities throughout the day and Richmond Operatic Society will be performing songs from their upcoming production of My Fair Lady.
The Tourist Information Centre will be giving visitors information on things to see and do in the area.
Eileen Halliday is chair of the Welcome to Richmond group which is hosting the event for the third year running.
She said: “We all know what a fantastic place Richmond is but sometimes we forget what’s right here on our doorstep.
“The Love Being Local Day is an excellent opportunity for residents to re-visit the town’s attractions or even experience them for the first time.
“Admission is free so people are encouraged to get around as many venues as possible, have a great day out, and then tell their friends, families and visitors what our incredible town has to offer.”
To gain free entry, residents should bring proof of their address.
