A NEW club has been set up to help small and one-man businesses.

There will be an informal drop-in on Wednesday, February 28 to launch the scheme aimed at stimulating the local economy in Bearpark and Ushaw Moor.

It takes place at Silvertrees Centre, in Durham Road, Ushaw Moor, between 8am and 11am and will be held monthly.

Durham county councillor Marion Wilson, who helped organise the event alongside Business Durham and Ushaw Moor parish councillors, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for small businesses to get help and advice on developing and improving their businesses"

A number of organisations will be on hand, including Business Durham, Community Economic Development, Durham Works. Durham Business Opportunities Programme, Digital Drive County Durham, CDC Enterprise Agency, Durham Savers Project, Durham Employment and Skills and the Mid Durham Area Action Partnership (AAP).
