A MAN was arrested by police following the discovery of a cannabis farm in a rural County Durham village.
Officers found a number of cannabis plants when they attended the property on Elwick View, in Trimdon Station, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, February 13.
Durham Police confirmed a 41-year-old man who was arrested at the scene was later cautioned for producing a controlled Class B drug.
The find came following the Sedgefield Ball Game which saw the force increase the number of officers on the ground in a bid to prevent any issues arising.
Writing on Facebook, Durham Special Constabulary said: “Huge crowds descended on the area and took part. Officers enjoyed engaging with those present.
“After the event, officers then supported Response Officers and attended a variety of incidents, including theft of motor vehicle, ASB (anti-social behaviour), domestics and suspicious activity.
“While attending one incident in the Trimdon area, a cannabis growth was found and a male was arrested in connection with it.”
