A SAFE containing a large quantity of cash has been stolen by a gang of thieves who broke into a betting shop in an early hours burglary.
Police stated that "a number of offenders" jumped out a vehicle that had pulled up outside of a Ladbrokes shop on Ennis Square, in Redcar, at 12.40am on Tuesday, February 13.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "A vehicle stopped outside of Ladbrokes before a number of offenders entered and stole a safe containing a Samsung tablet and a large amount of cash.
"The offenders then made off in the vehicle."
A Middlesbrough branch of the bookies was also robbed just hours after the first raid in Dormanstown, making it the Second Teesside Ladbrokes raided in the space of 24-hours.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Emma Kensey on the non-emergency number 101.
