SNOW is causing problems for drivers in County Durham.
Our photographer Sarah Caldecott reported hazardous conditions on the A688 between Bishop Auckland and Darlington.
Police officers were called to a two-vehicle collision in which a white Ford KA hit a tree and a red Kia swerved to avoid the collision and landed in a ditch.

The Met Office forecast for North-East England states: "After a largely dry but breezy start, patchy rain will arrive from the west, this likely falling as sleet or snow over high ground, and perhaps briefly to lower levels as it clears east towards the end of the afternoon. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
