A COMEDY club is preparing to welcome comedian Jason Cook to the stage later this month.

Organised by Funny Way To Be Comedy, Cook will perform his show Roughead and Cook, at The Witham, in Barnard Castle on Friday, February 23, at 8pm.

Dubbed as a "musical double act like no other", the award-winning comedian will join forces with Newcastle swing singer Glen Roughead, to present an evening of "laughs, songs and stupidity".

Cook said: “Glen and I have been doing a couple of songs at my own comedy club gig, so it made sense to do our own show.

"We can't wait. We've written some great new stuff and it's going to be a full-on night.”

Peter Dixon from Funny Way To Be Comedy said: “Jason is currently developing a new show with his friend Glen Roughead, which mixes music and comedy.

"Jason Cook is one of the UK's best comedy performers. He is a prolific writer and has an irresistible charm.

"He loves coming to Teesdale, and never fails to produce a great show. His new venture with Glen Roughead sounds like another brilliantly creative partnership.

"A perfect balance of music and comedy. We are thrilled to be bringing the pair to Barnard Castle. It's going to be a full show of lunacy from two Geordie legends with their luscious, loveable, laugh out loud lullabies.”

Tickets, are £10 in advance or £12 on the door and available from funnywaytobe.com and the Witham box office. Suitable for those aged 16 and over.
