A COUPLE will appear in court today in connection with an incident in which a man sustained serious stab wounds.
A 54-year-old man was charged with causing grievous bodily harm (wounding) with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and dangerous driving.
He was remanded to appear before magistrates at Newton Aycliffe today.
His 30-year-old partner is accused of aiding and abetting GBH (wounding) with intent and affray and has been bailed to appear at court today.
The charges relate to an incident in Howden-le-Wear, near Crook, on Friday.
The male victim is understood to remain in hospital with significant but not life-threatening injuries.
