A FOODSHARE charity is calling on supporters to spread the word about the help on offer after handing out a record 200 food hampers and 36 special parcels over Christmas.
Hambleton Foodshare operates from Northallerton, providing emergency food parcels for people facing financial problems. Coordinator Margaret Brice said: “We were overwhelmed with the support we received both in goods and financially, and wish to say a huge thank you.
“Although we gave out more parcels than ever before, we are conscious that there are still people out there who do not know there is a food bank in their community and what help they can receive. No-one will be judged for asking for help in such difficult circumstances, we are just keen that the food most generously given is going to those in need."
The partnership offers a three day food parcel to people in immediate financial crisis through unemployment , incapacity, benefit delays or other reasons. For information and help call 07514244158 or info@hambletonfoodshare.org.uk
