A ROCK band is in desperate need of a snake to slither into their set at an upcoming gig.

An Alice Cooper tribute act has been let down by its most unique band member – a huge python named Pandora.

Pandora is usually the ssstar of the show when Alice Cooper’s Nightmare take to the stage, but the 6ft reptile cannot make it to the band’s upcoming Stockton gig.

A stand-in snake who is not afraid to show off is needed to take centre stage at the gig, which is taking place at Stockton’s Georgian theatre on Saturday, February 17.

The band’s manager, Brian Green, spoke out as he launched a search for a snake with the ‘sss’ factor.

He said: “We call the snake Pandora because it arrives at the show in a box and everybody always asks: ‘what’s in the box?’

“But for the shows coming up, we’re not able to hire her from the usual outlet and that means we’d be grateful if anyone had a sssstand-in they can ssssuggest.”

“We’ve got all the things you associate with Alice’s famous Theatre of Death tour - the guillotine, the graveyard, the dolls and the dark side, the glamour, the glitter and the gore but the python draped around Alice’s neck is one of the most famous images from the show.”

The upcoming gig will see the snake play an important part in the show as the band belt out Alice Cooper hits including Poison, Billion Dollar Babies and School’s Out.

Mr Green said: “Most importantly it will also have all of the elements and stunts involved in an Alice Cooper show for those who prefer their Valentine bloodier than most.”
