THIRSK Rotary Club has elected their current President Mark Boersma to serve a second one-year term due to the ill-health of his expected successor.
Mr Boersma was elected at a special meeting after popular club member Graeme Bentley fell ill and moved away from Thirsk to be closer to his family.
Andy Walker was named as President-elect.
Members also heard the results of the club’s Christmas fundraising activities.
The Static Santa in the Market Place raised £195, Santa’s Grotto at Thirsk Garden Centre raised £1,320 and the sleigh visits made £1,825.
Charities to benefit from these events include Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
