TWO men robbed a delivery driver of cash before punching her in the face so they could escape.
The suspects approached the Taylor's delivery vehicle when it was parked on Commercial Street, in Willington, at around 7am on Saturday.
As one kept lookout, the other opened the passenger door and took a plastic tub containing £66.44 and a mobile phone.
They then ran off towards Lydia Street, where the driver challenged the suspects but was punched in the face by one of them before they made off into the Rosedale estate.
Police have appealed for anyone who can help identify the pair or witnesses to come forward.
- Anyone with information is asked to call PC Paul Canvin at Crook police station on 101, quoting reference DHM-20012018-0077.
