THE Cleveland Farmers' Charity Ball took place at the Students Union Campus Heart at Teesside University in Middlesbrough.

The event, on Friday, January 19, saw 352 people enjoy a three-course dinner, followed by dancing to The Fallen and Festival Time Disco.

Honorary Secretary and Treasurer Derek Noble: "The amazing venue at Teesside University facilitated the start of an exciting new era for The Cleveland Farmers' Charity Ball which celebrates its' centenary in two years time.

"This year, the committee worked extraordinarily hard in order to achieve a seamless move to the University who hosted us all very professionally.

"We are grateful to the many local businesses whose sponsorship helped the Ball to achieve over £8,000 for distribution to local charities."

A tombola, raffle and ticket draw was also held.

A special presentation was made to Chairman Keith Wilson for his long service to the committee.

"Keith celebrates, this year, 50 years as a member of the committee, incorporating 21 years as Chairman," said Mr Noble. 

"This is an unprecedented achievement and Keith has competently steered the Ball towards ever increasing levels of success and enjoyment."
