THE organisers of one of the country's most popular food festivals have announced the dates for this year's two-day event.

Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2018 will be held in the town on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, from 10am to 4pm each day.

Hosts Durham County Council and Bishop Auckland Town Council have promised a 'new and exciting programme' of workshops, chef demonstrations and plans which will be publicised in coming weeks.

The event has become the region’s biggest food event, growing each year to attract tens of thousands of visitors and more than 150 stalls from a wide variety of street food sellers and artisan producers. Workshops have ranged from chocolate making to children's cookery, there have been demonstrations from celebrity cooks and pop-up restaurants, bars and music.
