THE secrets behind the country's most popular heritage railway are about to be laid bare on television.
"All Aboard the Yorkshire Express" is a three-part documentary series commissioned by DSP, part of the Endemol Shine Group.
It will take viewers behind the scenes at the award-winning North Yorkshire Moors Railway, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The railway granted unprecedented access to DSP, whose co-managing directors Emily Dalton and Donna Clark, describe the show as “a real celebration of the extraordinary heritage and traditions of the country’s railways”.
A special preview will be aired at Welcome to Yorkshire’s "Yorkshire on Show event, the UK's biggest on-stage tourism show, on March 21 - and Channel 5 will air the series in a primetime slot later in the year.
The NYMR is currently campaigning to raise £2.5m towards a major programme of works to keep the railway in top-notch condition. To pledge your support in 2018 visit nymr.co.uk/YMJ
