A FARMER is hoping to build three camping cabins on a field used for sheep grazing for tourists visiting Weardale.
Mr E Betton, of Scotch Isle Farm in Wolsingham, has applied for planning permission to install the structures on land between the A689 and the River Wear.
The cabins would be 6.2m x 4.4m and would include a small kitchenette, shower room and living/sleeping space.
A statement submitted with the application reads: “The proposed cabins are small and are finished in materials that are not unnatural to the site.
“The camping cabin business will be run by the applicant and the cabins will not be visible from the neighbour’s property.”
