A NORTH-East council has once again received one of the RSPCA’s most prestigious accolades for its work with stray dogs.

Stockton Borough Council’s Animal Welfare team was awarded the ‘Gold Footprint’ at the charity’s Community Animal Welfare Awards.

“We’re delighted to have received this award,” said Councillor Steve Nelson, the Council’s cabinet member for access, communities and community safety.

“It recognises the exceptional work undertaken by our animal welfare officers and the care and professional approach they provide, with special emphasis on straying dogs being cared for and reunited with their owners.”
