THE director and producer of a cult movie has agreed to appear at a North-East film club next year.
Darlington Film Club announced this week that it is to screen the comedy-horror Kill Keith as a tribute to the much-loved entertainer Keith Chegwin, who died this week.
Since then Andy Thompson, who produced and directed the film, has offered to come to Darlington to take part in a Q&A on the night, which will now also be a fundraising event for the British Lung Foundation (BLF). Chegwin died on Monday, aged 60, after battling a progressive lung condition
As Mr Thompson is unable to attend on the original date of the screening – January 22 – the film will now be shown two weeks later.
James Watson, of the film club, said: “He’s really up for making it a great evening.”
The film, released in 2011, involves a mystery assassin bumping off contenders to be the next host of a breakfast show and also stars Joe Pasquale, Tony Blackburn and Russell Grant.
Kill Keith will be shown on the big screen at The Forum Music Centre on Borough Road, Darlington, on on Monday, February 5, at 7.30pm. Entry is £5, with proceeds to the BLF.
