A FIVE-month campaign has been launched to protect vulnerable victims of crime.
North Yorkshire Police’s No Home Here campaign is designed to raise awareness about emotional and physical crimes that go unnoticed because victims are living in fear.
Over the next five months, the force will target domestic abuse, child neglect, stalking and harassment, hate, and modern slavery and human trafficking.
The lengthy campaign will be supported by local councils, education, emergency and health services, and other organisations such as retailers.
Detective Superintendent Nigel Costello, North Yorkshire Police’s head of safeguarding and public protection, said: “When the victims are too scared to come forward, we instead rely heavily on reports and information from caring people in the local community.
“We all have a role to play to help put a stop to it, and you can make a real difference by picking up the phone and reporting what you see or hear.”
