A WRITERS’ group has created its first anthology featuring stories, poems and memoirs inspired by traditional textile crafts.
NorthPens Writers will launch Talking Threads at the Durham Dales Centre in Stanhope on Thursday, November 30, at 7pm.
The book is a celebration of the craft of storytelling and is described as: “interweaving the strands of time and place with the voices of an eclectic, funny and often moving bunch of characters.”
Chris Powell, of NorthPens Writers, said said the group had spent 18 months creating and perfecting the content after viewing a textiles exhibition at the Durham Dales Centre.
The project was made possible thanks to funding from the Lakes & Dales Co-op and the Weardale Area Action Partnership.
