A SCHOOL’S mission to be outstanding has moved a step closer following another glowing Ofsted report.

A recent inspection at Tow Law Millennium Primary School saw it retain its good rating, with inspectors noting a “sharp increase in pupil achievement.”

Teaching was described as highly effective, enabling pupils to make rapid progress, and the school was praised for its safe and happy environment.

In the report, published earlier this month, the inspector went on to say: “Pupils demonstrate excellent attitudes to learning. They are polite, considerate of others and behave well. Most pupils make strong progress across the school and a higher proportion than average leave the school well prepared for their secondary school education.”

Headteacher Lisa Jackson said: “After achieving ‘good’ status in our last inspection we were determined to consolidate that rating this time, and very much viewed the inspection as an opportunity to learn what we need to do to become an outstanding school next time.

“This inspection has confirmed that we are well along the path towards outstanding and I would like to pay tribute to our staff, parents, governors and our hard-working children for everything they have done to get the school to where it is today.”

Chair of Governors Russell Bell added: “Making our school somewhere where children feel happy and safe, and are supported to achieve their maximum potential is something very important to us as a governing body and we were delighted to see this reflected in Ofsted’s report.”
