THE North-East division of a global manufacturer has raised more than £400 for a cancer charity in memory of a late employee.
Staff at TR Fastenings, in Newton Aycliffe, held a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support in honour of Linda Woodward.
The account co-ordinator lost her battle with cancer in May, 2015, and since then her friends and colleagues have hosted an annual fundraiser - collecting more than £1,600 overall for the charity.
Katie Boddy, of the company's sales team, said: “This is such a lovely way to remember Linda while raising money for the charity which supports so many people whose lives are affected by cancer.
"We were so pleased to beat our £300 target by more than £100 this year. Thank you to everyone who came along and donated so generously.”
The latest fundraiser saw staff dress up for Halloween while keen bakers created a mix of sweet and savoury goodies to sell alongside hot drinks.
The cake sale generated £354 in funds while a further £60 was donated in an online tribute page dedicated to Ms Woodward.
