ONCE again I agree with Tony Kelly on crime and policing (HAS, Nov 1), particularly in regard to Mohibur Rahman, who attacked two colleagues in Darlington’s Shapla restaurant. Opportunities were missed to stop him.

Police are letting us down and making excuses.

As I implored in an earlier letter to our chief constable – stop fighting crime victims, and start fighting criminals.

Or start better-using budgets.

I’m told by online-ers that many dissatisfied crime victims now post discontent on police Facebook pages.

These days the police are so hampered by hidden agendas, rehearsed press releases and stonewalling they’re almost unfit for purpose.
