A MAN was taken to hospital following a two car collision near Ferryhill this morning.
Emergency services were called to the A167, Hudson Street, near the B6287 Durham Road, at about 8am this morning after a black Citroen C3 collided with a Skoda Octavia.
The male driver of the Citroen was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham following the accident. His injuries are not understood to be serious.
There were reports of slow moving traffic and partial blockages in both directions immediately after the accident.
The road was then fully closed to allow the scene to be cleared but has since reopened.
