POLICE are investigating reports that a man tried to get a 13-year-old girl to get into his car as she made her way to school.
The incident is alleged to have happened on Alnwick Road, in Newton Hall, Durham on Thursday, November 2.
The driver, described as an Asian male in his thirties, is reported to have opened the rear passenger door and beckoned for her to ‘get in’.
The girl carried on walking and the lime green car drove off in the direction of Old Pitt Lane.
No make or model was described for the vehicle.
Investigations are ongoing.
Neighbourhood inspector Mark Edwards said: “Thankfully the girl had the good sense to carry on walking.”
