CRAFTERS who usually rely on the internet to sell their goods will be setting up a market for customers a little closer to home.

An Etsy Made Local market is being held in Durham over the weekend of December 2-3.

Durham-based makers and designers, who usually sell their products through the online marketplace Etsy, which specialised in handmade and vintage goods, will be involved in the market at Durham Students’ Union, Dunelm House.

Rachael Dilley, Etsy Durham team captain, said: “Events like this are a great opportunity to meet local makers in your area and find handmade, unique gifts for everyone on your Christmas list, and maybe even a few treats for yourself.”

More than 35 local Etsy sellers will be selling at the market, with products ranging from original artworks to handmade cosmetics.

The event is a chance to discover some of the best of the city’s creative community, allowing them to connect with and buy directly from local makers and designers.

It takes place between 9am and 5pm on both days.
