CRIME prevention advice is now available for residents thanks to a Winter Nights campaign launched this week.
Safety advice and guidance will be delivered in a series of messages on social media over the next fortnight, as the dark nights are approaching.
Ron Hogg, Police, Crime and Commissioner for County Durham and Darlington, is hosting the campaign.
Mr Hogg said: “It is always appropriate at this time of year to work with our partners to remind residents, and visitors to the area, about personal safety and crime prevention.
“Whether it’s a simple reminder to ensure property is locked, to keep a light on in your home when you’re out, or to make sure you are visible to road users when walking in the dark, we all have a part to play to keep ourselves safe.”
Residents are being encouraged to share social media posts about the Winter Nights campaign by searching for Durham PCC on Facebook and Twitter until November 15.
