RESIDENTS can have their say on Durham County Council’s budget proposals at the next Three Towns Area Action Partnership (AAP) board meeting.
Jane Robinson, the council’s corporate director of adult and health services, will give a presentation at the meeting at Crook Civic Centre on Thursday, November 9, at 6pm.
Over the last six years Government funding cuts have meant the authority has been tasked with making considerable savings, which will reach £200m by March next year.
By 2022, this figure must increase to £250m and the council is now seeking help to balance its budget for 2018/19, during with it must save £15.3m.
Residents of Crook, Willington, Tow Law and surrounding villages are encouraged to come to the AAP meeting to find out more about the proposals and express their views.
Anyone wishing to attend the meeting is asked to contact a member of the Three Towns AAP team on 03000-267539 or threetownsaap@durham.gov.uk in advance.
Residents who are unable to attend the meeting on November 9 can find out more and have their say on the council’s website.
