A KIND-HEARTED pensioner and his faithful hound have raised more than £100 for a charity in its centenary year.
Geoff Gregg organised a fundraising raffle for the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) at B&M in Ferryhill as a thank you for the care it has bestowed on his dog, Patch. The raffle, drawn yesterday, featured a luxury hamper as its prize. It is one of many ways Mr Gregg, from Tursdale, has supported the charity. The 70-year-old has also named the PDSA as the major beneficiary of his will.
Mr Gregg, who has been invited to a prestigious event to celebrate the charity’s 100th anniversary, said: “I am passionate about the PDSA and I am so grateful for the treatment they have given Patch.”
The PDSA provides free and low-cost treatment to pets in need.
