THE Friends of Richardson Hospital are offering free emergency first aid training to any Teesdale residents who volunteer within the community.
The course includes topics such as scene assessment, safety, CPR, how to use a defibrillator, burns and bleeding.
It will run from 9.30am until 5pm on Saturday, December 2, at Barnard Castle Guides Headquarters in Birch Road.
Successful completion of the course, which is by continuous assessment throughout the day, will lead to a Level 1 Award in First Aid.
Friends’ Secretary Iris Hillery said: “The previous courses we have run have been very well attended and feedback has been excellent.”
A maximum of 12 places are available and must be booked in advance by calling Mrs Hillery on 07919344845 or emailing iris@ajalon.co.uk.
Participants should bring a packed lunch.
