A CHART topping duo have announced a date for their outdoor performance.

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott will be performing with special guest Billy Bragg in Dalby Forest, near Pickering, as part of next year’s Forest Live concert series.

The forest is one of seven woodland venues throughout England to be chosen by organisers the Forestry Commission.

Heaton is one of the UK’s most successful songwriters, best known as the front man of 80s alternative rock band The Housemartins.

He formed The Beautiful South in 1988 and Abbott was their lead vocalist in the late 90s – singing hits such as Rotterdam, Don’t Marry Her and Dream A Little Dream.

Heaton and Abbott’s latest album Crooked Calypso charted at number two – making it their highest release as a duo.

They also had two top five albums with What Have We Become and Wisdom, Laughter and Lines.

They will play at Dalby Forest on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Tickets are £33.50 (plus a £3.85 booking fee) and will be available from 9am this Friday.

They can be bought by calling the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400, or at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
