THE man responsible for the look of Darth Vader is leaving the Dark Side for the seaside.

Movie sculpting legend Brian Muir is heading for North Yorkshire to take part in Sci-Fi Scarborough, a weekend that even the organisers describe as a “geek pop culture event.”

Brian is a movie sculptor and artist whose creations include the infamous Darth Vader helmet as well as other creations for the Star Wars universe.

Other movies he has brought his style to include seven Bond films, two Harry Potters, two Indiana Jones productions and many other high-profile blockbusters.

He has worked in the film industry for almost 50 years and his autobiography In the Shadow of Vader is now in its third printing.

Convention co-organiser Steve Dickinson “Brian is such a great guest for SFS, after years of waiting we have the guy who sculpted Vader’s helmet, the most famous, stunning, striking and iconic mask ever created and that’s just a sample of his work, the man is a legend in his field and we cannot wait to meet him.”

Sci-Fi Scarborough is back for the fifth year in the Victorian Spa Complex over a full weekend with A mix of guests, authors, movie AND TV props, console, retro and table-top gaming, comic book artists and indie films.
