A BUSINESSWOMAN has applied for permission to keep a shepherd’s hut in her garden, which is used as visitor accommodation.
Kathy Turner submitted the retrospective planning application for a hut on wheels, which is in the corner of her garden in Whitesmocks, Durham, on the site of a former garden shed.
The hut includes its own shower, toilet and kitchen as well as a patio area.
Mrs Turner, who runs the Old Cinema Laundrette, in Gilesgate, with her husband, Richard, says the hut will only be used while they are at the property and noisy behaviour from guests will not be tolerated.
Her application says it will be advertised on two sites, to visitors wanting to stay the night in Durham and will also be used by visiting musicians to their other business, which doubles as a music venue.
