A SERIES of overnight closures on the A68 and Rotary Way in the Faverdale area, began last night.

There will be no access to or from Darlington via junction 58 of the A1M between 7pm and 6am, for a further four nights, reopening on Saturday.

The roundabout on Rotary Way will also be closed to all traffic except for access to West Park Hospital.

Access to and from Faverdale Industrial Estate will be via the Faverdale roundabout only. Access to High Grange will also be via the Faverdale roundabout.

A signed diversion will be in place from junction 58 A1(M) to the A68 via Newton Aycliffe, North Road and Woodland Road. Junctions 57 and 59 of the A1(M) will operate as normal and may provide a better alternative to the diversion.

A further five nights of closures start on Monday, with no access to Faverdale industrial estate or into Darlington via junction 58. The A68 southbound will also be closed from junction 58 to Rotary Way roundabout.

A diversion will be in place via Newton Aycliffe, North Road and Woodland Road.
