ARTISTS will be displaying their work inspired by light as part of a touring scheme across the region.

Seven artists are taing part in the Highlights Contemporary Craft Tour, entitled Luminosity which looks at light - reflections, images and installations - through contemporary craftwork.

The pieces will be on show at The Witham, in Barnard Castle, on Ocotber 14 and November 4.

Highlights Craft Tour officer, Karen Babayan, siad: “Luminosity is all about celebrating light and the touring exhibition will include glass, sculptural textiles, film and projection, electronics and neon installations."

Five of the participating artists and designer makers are based in the north of England and are joined by Statira Jazayeri, a Swedish artist with Iranian roots, and Evagelia Hagikala who is originally from Greece.

Montalbo Primary School are working with neon artist Stuart Langley to produce works that will be exhibited in the Dispensary Gallery.
