A LEGACY from a well-known theatre lover is giving budding young actors an opportunity to perform at the world’s largest arts festival.
Brian Tennant, who died last September, left a large bequest to The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond.
Some of the money is being used to fund a Youth Theatre production at the Edinburgh Fringe next summer.
The Georgian Theatre Royal Youth Theatre will perform This is Yorkshire, based on the 2007 film This is England, between August 21 and 24, 2018.
Aimee Shields, Youth Theatre officer, said: “Brian was passionate about theatre and the arts and we are sure that he would be delighted that his money is being used to engender a love of the stage amongst young people and maybe even kick-start a few acting careers along the way.”
Auditions for the play will take place later this month.
