A SENSORY experience is set to engage Darlington’s younger generation when it arrives in the town the first time next week as part of a Theatre Hullabaloo project.

The Nest performance will be hosted in a custom-built tent in a show designed to captivate the senses of pre-walking babies.

The 35-minute experience follows the story of the seasons, using poetry, sound, song, movement and tactile and sensory play.

Laura Case, development director for Theatre Hullabaloo, said: “We are so excited to have brought Nest into Darlington as part of the Theatre Town project.

“We want children and families in Darlington to experience a variety of cultural activities, especially as we get ready to open our new home, The Hullabaloo in December.

“We’re delighted to open a venue, specifically created for children and families, and provide an inspiring place for them to play and learn.”

Nest will run from Thursday, October 12, to Saturday, October 14, four times a day and will be set up inside Skinnergate’s Quaker Meeting House on Thursday and Friday.

The show will be staged in the Head of Steam railway museum, off Station Road, on Saturday.
