A ROUND-UP of junior football action, sent in by teams.

The Northern Echo:

Newton Aycliffe

AYCLIFFE Juniors enjoyed a superb community day alongside Newton Aycliffe FC on Saturday before getting back to their usual weekly games.

The community day saw both NAJFC and NAFC coaches run short skills sessions for those attending.

There was a great turnout and many new players enjoyed their first taste of football. It was fantastic to have the support of NAFC for what was a very successful event.

The Under 7s travelled to play Leven AFC but were beaten 6-2.

They found themselves 3-0 down against a good passing team. Sam then scored direct from a corner and Alex also scored before the hosts finished the match well.

All of the squad played well with a lot of effort put in by everyone.

The Under 8s hosted Norton & Stockton Ancients 'Amber' and won 3-1.

All nine players contributed well. Dylan did a great job up front, Alex and Thomas (two) scored the goals.

Kenyon was named as the man of the match.

The Under 9s played away against Stranton Juniors, Harry and Marley scored but the home team kept the pressure on and won in the end. Henry was named as the man of the match.

The Under 10s 'Black' travelled to play Eaglescliffe Elementis but ended up as the losing team. They put in a great effort and Jayden was the man of the match.

The Under 10s 'White' hosted Billingham Synthonia and enjoyed a superb 7-0 win. The Aycliffe side played some great football to beat a really strong team. Niall, Jayden and Connor scored two goals each with Jack also on the score sheet. Harvey was the man of the match.

The Under 11s were away at Saxon Juniors and a great team effort secured a 5-1 win. Charlie opened the scoring before Saxon equalised, then Zak chipped the keeper to make it 2-1. Charlie added his second before Jake finished his own great run with a goal. The fifth and final goal was a great long range effort from Thomas.

The Under 12s Russell Foster League team played away at league leaders Gateshead Redheugh.

In the first half the Aycliffe team moved the ball well and Taylor hit the post.

Man of the match Herbie made a penalty save but at the break they were 2-0 down. In the second half the unbeaten hosts extended their advantage to win 5-0.

The Under 12s TJFA league team were invited to play at Newcastle United on Friday evening and their win was great preparation for the visit of Boro Rangers Blue.

The Aycliffe team again performed well and won 2-0, both goals coming in the second half. Liam finished off Lucas' cross and then Will scored after good work from Charlie.

The Under 13's played away at Greatham and started really well with Clark's goal making it 1-0.

The quality continued but a second goal didn't arrive and Greatham then improved and went on to win 4-1. Jake was given the man of the match award by the opposing manager.

The Under 16s were away at Leven AFC and returned home 4-1 winners.

Stoker and Hynes combined well to get the opening two goals with each player scoring from the others assist. Man of the match Burrows scored the next two goals with the first being a superb effort.

The Under 23s were back in action and played against local rivals Ferryhill Town.

The first half was held up by a 20-minute break to deal with an injury and it was good to hear Jack recovered well after the game. The second half saw two Andrew Vincent goals which secured a 2-1 win.

Luke Allenby was the games man of the match.

St Mary's Under 7 Kings v Billingham Synthonia

The Northern Echo:

Another win for Under 7 Kings who played an outstandingly and worked well as a team. These boys are working so hard and the results are starting to show.

Goals from Harley Peirson (four), Zac Tabberer, Joe Weighill and a hat-trick from new player Joesph Jones. Man of the Match was Tyler Anderson.

Trimdon United

TJFA U9s got back to winning ways after back to back cup defeats.

They made it two wins from two in the league, playing Greatham Blues.

They started fast scoring early then went back to bed, allowing the opposition to equalise.

From then on Trimdon dominated and didn’t give them an inch, playing some superb football and running out 8-1 winners in the first game.

The second game was much the same scenario. This time Trimdon ran out 13-1 winners. An around good performance by all players.

Trimdon United U9s RFYL played East Durham Blues and lost 5-3.

It was a another game that Trimdon threw away when they should have won.

The lads took the lead from the start but maybe felt a little too comfortable and East Durham took the lead and won the game.

Trimdon felt they should have had two penalities, but the decisions didn't go their way.

The lads put in a good performance in and kept battling until the final whistle, goals coming from Josh Hind and two from Joel Stevenson.

Trimdon United Juniors Under 11s lost 10-2 against a well-organised East Middlesbrough. They were missing four players but the lads put the effort in and gave there all only to be beaten by the better team on the day.

A fine strike from Dougie English and a cool finish from Charlie Martin gave the lads something to celebrate. Each lad had the right attitude and all played in strange positions without complaining.

Man of the match was Charlie Martin who was cool and composed and put a shift in for the team, playing right back before moving up front and scoring.

Trimdon United U12s 3 Billingham Juniors 2

The lads got off to a slow start and went a goal down inside five minutes.

The rest of the half was very even but Josh Langley was having a great game in goal and kept the visitors to one goal.

Josh Gibson levelled things up and just on half-time grabbed his second after some good work.

It was 2-1 at half-time, but the visitors equalised  within five minutes of the restart.

The lads pressed looking for the third and got their reward with a goal from Tommy Carter.

Billingham had their chances too but Trimdon held out. Man of the Match was Josh  langley.

Trimdon U14s 1 Stockton West End 6

The does not really reflect the game. It was a good game of football, the difference was Stockton took their chances when they had them.

Trimdon had a couple of lads missing and no subs, but there was some great football played.

A loss of concentration for last 15 minutes in first half cost them three goals and a couple of silly mistakes in the second half sealed the result.

However, their heads never dropped and they battled on until the end and played some good football.
