THE case of a man accused of car-jacking a delivery driver has been further put back as another charge is pending.

Phillip Teasdale is alleged to have carried out the robbery in Gilesgate, Durham, on August 21.

Following threats with a broken bottle he is said to have commandeered the Honda Jazz, in Bradford Crescent, before a police pursuit on the A1(M) and the A689, ending on the A177 between Sedgefield and Stockton.

During a previous hearing, at Durham Crown Court, Teasdale admitted dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, without insurance and resisting a constable.

Further charges of robbery and possessing an offensive weapon are yet to be put , with a further count to follow, from the magistrates’ court.

The case at the crown court was adjourned for a fortnight and Teasdale remains remanded in custody.
