A NEW cathedral organist is to be a guest ‘castaway’ revealing his favoured musical choices to a public audience.
Recently installed Durham Cathedral Master of Choristers and Organist, Daniel Cook, will list his top eight pieces of music, plus the book and luxury item he would most like to take to the mythical ‘desert island’.
Interviewed by Durham’s vice-dean and precentor, the Reverend Canon David Kennedy, the live version of the long-running BBC radio programme takes place in the Prior’s Hall, at the cathedral, on Monday, at 7pm.
Mr Cook follows the Dean of Durham, The Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, who was the first ‘castaway’ guest of Durham Cathedral Choir Association, in February.
Tickets, costing £10, including refreshments, are available by email from dcca@durhamcathedral.co.uk, or via The DCCA office, at The Chorister School, Durham.
