A NEW tourist attraction in a town undergoing multi-million redevelopment is starting to take shape.
Cranes have this week begun lifting the wooden structure which will surround the new Auckland Tower, in the Market Place.
The facility will act as a welcome point for visitors to Auckland Castle and other new attractions due to open over the next few years.
Work is set to be completed by spring next year.
Auckland Tower is just one of the projects ongoing with The Auckland Project, others include the multi-million pound refurbishment of Auckland Castle, a Spanish Art Gallery, Deer Park, Walled Garden, Mining Art Gallery and Faith Museum.
