A FORMER soldier on a mission to raise £100,000 for Help for Heroes is preparing to shoot down the target with his annual fundraiser.
Phil Bartlett, from Spennymoor, County Durham, is organising a clay pigeon shooting competition on Sunday, October 8.
The event will be at Spennymoor and District Clay Pigeon Gun Club, at West House Farm, Fishburn.
Mr Bartlett, formerly of the Royal Corps of Transport, smashed his original £50,000 target for Help for Heroes at the shoot in 2015.
The shoot, which will start at 9am, will also feature a raffle and auction.
Representatives from Phoenix House, in Catterick, and Shooters for Heroes will also be taking part.
It is the eight year Mr Bartlett has held the charity event and so far he has raised more than £66,000.
Mr Bartlett, 59, said those interested can just turn up on the day.
Entry is £15 per shooter.
