No-one was hurt in a two vehicle crash on a busy County Durham A-road.
Three people had to be rescued after the vehicles collided on the A688 between the junction of South Church Enterprise Park and Watling Road, Bishop Auckland, at 2.50pm on Monday.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) crews helped three people who were trapped in the vehicles before taking them to hospital as a precaution.
Durham Police attended the scene but there are no suspicious circumstances and no arrests made.
The road was closed in both directions and motorists were diverted.
A spokesperson for CDDFRS said appliances from Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor attended as well as a specialist rescue unit.
A witness reported seeing a small, white van and a dark-blue coloured car which appear to have collided.
