A HOUSE has been destroyed by a fire.
Fire crews form Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland rushed to the scene in Park Parade, Spennymoor, at about 4.15pm on Thursday.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a jet, hose rail and high pressure fan to tackle the blaze.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed the “whole house was severely damaged”.
She said the house was empty at the time and no one had been injured during the incident.
The fire was put out by 5.35pm.
The fire service will begin an investigation into what caused the fire on Friday.
