PLANS to build nine new homes on a Teesdale farm have been submitted to Durham County Council.
Landowner Lord Barnard is hoping to convert existing barns at Hilton Hall Farm, Hilton, into five new homes as well as building four new ones on the site of an existing agricultural shed.
If planning consent is granted, the properties would consist of one two-bedroom, two three-bedroom and five four-bedroom houses.
One two-bedroom key worker house would also be built on the Marwood Estate which falls within the conservation area of Hilton.
One home would also be made affordable.
Each would have their own private garden while 22 car parking spaces would also be created for the properties.
A design and access statement submitted with the plans states the "proposed scheme will mirror the surroundings in a development which is appropriate to tis setting".
It added that "the new build units are bespoke designs influenced by the scale and massing of the existing agricultural building they replace".
The current entrance would be blocked off while two new entrances would be made to create a one-way system around the site.
