RESIDENTS have been warned to be vigilant after burglars targeted several insecure garages in Teesdale over the weekend.
A Barnard Castle Police spokesman confirmed four residential burglaries had taken place overnight on Saturday, September 9.
Four garages were targeted in Gainford with a mountain bike being taken from a property in Waters End and a drill and black carry case from homes in Balmer Hill.
The thieves struck again on Sunday night when food was stolen from freezer in an insecure garage in Ingleton.
A police spokesman urged residents to make sure all doors and garages ware locked and be vigilant.
Officers are also asking any residents with CCTV in the villages to check them for any suspicious activity in the early hours of both days.
If you have any information call the police on 101.
