THE owners of a city centre restaurant are opening a new venture.
Nigel and Deborah Gadd, from Durham, are planning to make changes to the former tapas restaurant El Coto, in Hallgarth Street, to create their own eatery and antique shop.
The venue will be called The Rabbit Hole and part of the front of the building will be used to sell antiques.
The couple, who already own Zen restaurant, in Court Lane, also want to build an extension to the rear of the property on top of the existing kitchen.
Durham County Council has granted planning permission to make the changes and to install new signs for the venue.
The applicants say the restaurant will create four full-time and ten part-time jobs.
