DURHAM Cathedral is offering young people the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in museums and heritage with two Young Curators Taster Days.
Young Curators is a group for young people aged 11-16, which aims to give budding historians and curious future curators exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Cathedral’s exhibitions.
During the Taster Days, curators-in-the-making will learn about how to handle and display objects, interpret the collections, work with local artists and help the Cathedral develop children’s activities.
Young Curators meet once a month in the Education Centre at Durham Cathedral. The Young Curators Taster Days will be held today from 1.30pm – 3.00pm and Saturday, September 9 from 10.30am – noon.
These events are free, but booking is essential. To reserve a place contact education@durhamcathedral.co.uk or call 0191-374-4070.
