EMERGENCY services rushed to the aid of a man believed to have plunged into the River Tees late last night.
Police, ambulances and fire crews were spotted around the Ryton Close area of Thornaby at around 11pm on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police received a report that a male had gone into the River Tees just after 11pm.
“The man was located in a wooded area close by around half an hour later and he was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees to be checked over.”
