Boston United 0 Spennymoor Town 3.

Spennymoor are now up to fourth in the Vanarama National League North with an excellent 3-0 away win at Boston last night.

Moors bounced back from their defeat at Brackley last weekend, and took the game to Boston in the opening 20 minutes, and nearly took the lead on several occasions.

David Foley was denied from a few yards out off a Chris Chantler cross by a last ditch clearance by Boston defender Brad McGowan, then Andrew Johnson fired just over the bar, and with his next attempt on 15 minutes struck the post with the keeper beaten.

But Moors couldn’t break through, and Boston came more and more into the game, and the Moors defence did well to stop Kabongo Tshimanga from breaking through.

However, Moors bounced back on 42 minutes. They won a corner when Boston keeper George Willis saved from Ryan Hall, and when David Foley beat a defender from the corner and fired the ball low into the six yard box, it went into the back of the net off Glen Taylor and a defender.

The introduction of Boston sub Karl Hawley injected some life into the home side. Tshimanga fired just over the top after bursting through, then Kallum Griffiths cleared off the line from Bradley Beatson.

Jack Broadhead then set up Tshimanga, but the striker blazed a good opportunity wide, then Hemmings swung a corner against the Moors post.

Lowson then made a good save from Tshimanga, but Moors showed their resilience by grabbing a second on 74 minutes.

Foley. deep inside his own half, split the Boston defence with a great crossfield ball for Taylor to run through and fire past the keeper.

Foley nearly added another but was narrowly over, but he was involved in the third goal, when he set up Johnson to score from a couple of yards.
