West Auckland hit the goals trail again when they won 5-2 at Newton Aycliffe tonight in the EBAC Northern League.

West have scored 24 times now in five league games, with striker Nathan Fisher scoring twelve of them.

West were awarded a penalty on 8 minutes when Adam Mitchell was brought down, and Anthony Bell scored from the spot, and he was successful again with another penalty on 22 minutes after he was tripped.

West got a third on 34 minutes when Bell’s shot was parried by Newton Aycliffe keeper Jack McLaren, and Ben Wood followed up to score against his old club.

Nathan Fisher then scored his 11th goal of the season with a good turn and finish on the hour to make it 4-0, before Matty Pennal pulled a goal back for Aycliffe. Fisher made it 5-1 from a Mitchell free kick, before Pennal scored a late consolation.

Bishop Auckland are still bottom of the table after losing 2-0 at Seaham Red Star.

Seaham took the lead on 15 minutes, when Brad Staunch headed home from a Lee Chapman cross, but Bishops missed some good chances to equalise, with Ben Trotter putting a good effort wide.

Priestley Griffiths went close from long range in the second half. But just as it looked as if Bishops might get something out of the game, Chris Lynch scored from a rebound after Robbie Bird’s shot was blocked.

Tow Law are unbeaten in six matches at the top of the second division after they beat Easington 4-1 at Ironworks Road. Lewis Harrison put Lawyers into the lead on 20 minutes, only for Jayven Redman to quickly equalise.

But Lawyers moved up a gear in the second half, and scored three more times through a Chris Bell own goal, Ian Maddison and Dean Thexton.

Darlington RA lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a 1-0 away win at Durham City, Mark Sims scoring the important goal just a minute after half time.

Brandon lost out by 2-0 at Whickham, for whom Lee Mole and Kallum Broadhead scored.
